ACCA Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification was launched in 1989 with the aim of providing opportunities for individuals to acquire the necessary technical skills &
knowledge to fulfill an accounting role up to technician level.
It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge & the
opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional Chartered Certified Accountant.
ACCA CAT course is suitable for anyone who would like to take this course as a stepping stone onto the ACCA professional course in future.
As no prior knowledge of accounting or a formal academic qualification is required to enrol, this course is ideally suited for SPM or Senior Middle 3 school leavers or those who are keen to embark on a career in Accountancy.
The CAT programme consists of 3 levels & Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of each level.
On completion of all the 3 levels examinations plus one year's working experience, you will be eligible to apply for the designation letters CAT after your name.
Should you wish to pursue your accountancy career further, completion of the CAT scheme allows you to move directly to Part 2 of ACCA professional scheme exams by granting you exemption from Part I ACCA exams.
In addition, ACCA's unique partnership with Oxford Brookes University allows you to obtain a Bsc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting upon completion of Part 2 of ACCA professional scheme exams.
